It’s been months since Easton’s father and grandmere were taken by Big Billy Claret. With their house burned to ash and insurance refusing to pay, he and his mother Christie are forced to live in a seedy motel while she tries to find work. Easton has been having bad bad dreams, the latent powers building inside him are lashing out unpredictably, and on the other end of the telephone a disembodied voice of a girl speaks to him telepathically. Big Billy is not yet done with Easton, and he has a much crueller master. Only with the help of new friends can Easton defeat the swamp-man once and for all.
Easton Porter is a thirteen-year-old boy who was taken months ago by Big Billy Claret into the swamp-man’s house of bones after an afternoon of frog-catching. Easton was only saved by unlocking his latent psychic powers and guiding his father, Fred Porter telepathically to Billy’s lair, and whistling the lullaby that grandmere had taught him to keep wretched Billy at bay.
